Ashtanga Vinyasa founded by K. Pattabhi Jois in 1927, is a dynamic and physicallu demanding yoga practice with a set sequence, set drishti (gaze) and set breathing. You synchronise breath with movement to create an internal heat designed to purify the body and mind. Ashtanga yoga with its many vinyasas is great for building strength in the body and stillness in the mind.

In Ashtanga Mysore Classes, students practice independently and at their own pace while surrounded by the energy and inspiration of other students in the room (cheat sheets are available). Rachel will adjust and assist when required. Ashtanga Yoga is synchronising breath and movement to produce an internal heat designed to purify the body, with its many vinyasas it is a meditative, disciplined yoga practice that can be enjoyed by all.
This class has an "Open Shala" rule - meaning you can arrive anytime between 6 & 7 and begin your practice (latest practice start time 7am) Opening Chants at 6.45am and closing at 7.50am followed by Savasana.
