Unique Handstand And Yoga Workshop Afternoon – Cannock

This workshop is 3 hours worth of Hardstanding and Yoga fun with Rachel and Ben Lowrey (from AcroLibrary)! These guys met at the beginning of 2017 and have been wanting to collaborate in the West Midlands, so finally a year later they are able to share both their passions for Fun Acrobatics and Yoga!

How The Afternoon Will Look

You can arrive from 1.15pm to the studio, please arrive no later than 1.25pm so we can start on time. 

It also gives us all a nice opportunity to meet and greet before we kick off with the afternoons events!

Ben’s workshops are fun classes designed to progress Yoga, Pole & Fitness enthusiasts towards a solid and confident handstand. There is a strong emphasis on fun, movement, variety, and we will also spend time on Yoga inversions + Acrobatic movements such as cartwheels, walking on hands, and handstand to forward roll. 

This part of the workshop is suitable for people who practise yoga regularly and who wish to dedicate an entire training session to progressing their strength and confidence with inversions. All attendees will be challenged with a wide range of exercises and even those who already have a confident Handstand will be pushed to their limits. The atmosphere is very playful and inclusive, beginners are welcome, but you must be able to hold a handstand against a wall for 10 seconds. Suitable exercises will be given to challenge each individual’s abilities. The atmosphere is inclusive and encouraging and everybody’s level will be enthusiastically catered for.

Ben will focus on a wide range of exercises designed to progress flexibility, strength, endurance, alignment and balance. Headstand, forearm stand, and crow variations will also be worked on, but the main focus will be handstand. Be prepared to work in pairs to spot each other and also against the wall to develop a confident and controlled entry into the handstand.

Rachel’s class will be designed to move thorough a Yoga sequence that compliments the work done in the first 90 mins of the workshop. From dynamic sun salutations and standing sequence to winding down with some deep yin style stretches on the mat focusing on the shoulders and arms to really relax, open up. The atmosphere will be a fluid and moving one where you are able to really let loose and let the body enjoy the new sensations created in the Handstand workshop and new found strength. Yoga is always a non judgemental, friendly place, so at any point do you need to rest, Rachel give the atmosphere to relaxation that allows you to do whatever the body needs. We will finish with a wonderful relaxation where your body and mind can digest the workshop in its challenges and triumphs and restore itself. This time is really crucial to feel the benefits of the workshop.
